Exactly the same as a camp 100yds from the car.If you need it in your pack then you need it no matter how far you need to walk.If you can't carry your pack 10 miles because it's too heavy then you need to travel a shorter distance or lighten your load.
I figure the following:
Tent and small tarp (tarp too because it lets you have more space and if it pours down on the walk in allows you shelter)
Sleeping Mat
Sleeping Bag
Stove
Food, Pan & KFS
Some water (not much - is heavy) and a water filter
Knife
FAK
Spare set of clothes
Torch & spare batteries
Camera
Notebook
Good book
Phone
2 Sets of clothes: one on me and another as spare and a waterproof top.
Think I got it all.

A horse and whatever you like.
I knew it was raining cats and dogs because I stepped in a poodle.
Shelter: Hammock, tarp, UQ, sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping thermals & sleep socks
Cooking: Ti mug, Al pan, alcohol stove, fuel, spork, chopsticks, bandana, water tablets
Clothing: Spare socks, down body warmer, extra warm layer, spare teeshirt, waterproofs, poncho
Everything else: Knife, Saw, food, FAK, torch, book, journal, spare cordage, washkit, sitpad, firesteel, firelighters,
.. and a guitar.
So basicly the same as any camp or hike for me really, setup doesn't change only the amount of food and fuel I bring (and whether or not I take the geetar)
I think Mace242 has most essentials covered, but add map & compass. I'd take my iPod too. But luxuary items are a matter of personal taste. Keeping the weight down is always one of my priorities as I find walking more enjoyable when I'm not loaded down. If I was going anywhere where I could have a fire I'd take a Laplander saw.

i take what i want as i can do 40 miles a day with a large pack, and have no problems, but thats just me.......
what i would say is make sure you take some tape for your feet and compede, micropor i find the best 1" wide.....
Summer = hot (if you are lucky)+hike to camp.
Will you have a water source already at the camp? you could always do a geo-cache for the heavier items like water, food, luxurys and/or split the remaining load between friends?
2 litres+ per day, per person.
or use one of these

Ten mile?
I don't know what you will take but I know what you will leave behind - other people!
The more distance away from the crowd the better.
Have fun
a handcart sounds like a plan to me, or as there know as nowadays, a carp fishing trolley....

The "10 item" list (see that thread), add food, mosquito net, a second cookpot or a skillet, any stuff one wants to play with (be it fishing kit, woodcarving tools, an enthusiastic partner-in-crime^Wlust, or whatever you fancy)
How did i forget map and compass? Silly me...

I did look for a good oneLOL
Do you mean tape your feet up first? Never tried it, but it sounds a bloody good idea! I did a 6 day hike through snowdonia with full packs, wild camping each night, early last summer. Even though my Basher boots are well broken in I still suffered terribly with monster blisters from day one.Taping up your feet before getting the buggers sounds a mighty good idea! lol
