    Default MORA 2010.. can I drill the handle to fit a leather lanyard ?




    MORA 2010
    Treated myself to 1 of these and was wondering if I could drill a hole through the end of the handle to fit a lanyard/strap without the knife falling apart ...... ?

    any ideas guys ?

    PS , I found this picture of them "x-ray" style

    so I take it its just solid rubber /plastic ? it the yellow bit on the butt a "plug" ?

    Looks like it. If not with the lanyard position, use a decent cheap HSS drill bit for metal and other (machine mart are far cheaper than the larger well known DIY stores), and even if you nick the end of the tang there's no problem as the strength of the knife will hardly be effected for say an 6-8mm bit diameter.

    Just out of interest what's the lanyard for?

    I have done it when I got the first of them for my business, no problem driliing a hole but the soft rubber will stay in the hole, so a hot nail or something will do the job as welll.

    i have done all my mora's and as long as you come 10 mill from the end you will be fine, hope that helps mate.

    Indeed it is, a yellow butt plug, easy to find in the dark.
