    Default survival kit completed

my survival kit is finally completed.
and it have been so much fun, putting it together that i will now make a tiny survival kit(slightly larger a pack of 20 cigarettes).

    knife (Ontario SP-1)
    6 body lengths paracord
    12 body lengths thread
    sharpening stone
    compass
    2 needles

    water bottle
    something to cook in
    6 snares
    100m fishing line
fishing kit: hooks, flies, lead weights and a wooden thing that floats
    tarp

    matches
    firesteel
    candle
    lighter
10 bags with kerosene in solid form

    disinfecting wipes
    bandages
something that supposedly will stop bleeding
    tweezer
    safety pins

    zip-lock bags are your friends!

a norrøna kongsvoll hip pack that was bought solely to keep this kit in.
turns out i won't be using it after all.

comments are welcome, and especially ideas for making this kit smaller.

I'd add sume puritabs for water safety and probably go for a 1litre bottle (as thats what a puritab disinfects).

I'd go with all the above and ditch the groundsheet for a poncho instead. Dual role and far lighter.

that particular hipback is good when you have it on you.
but i find that it take up to much volume for a pack to just throw in your backpack.

Good fun things to make up! I'm doing a full kit based on a Maxpedition Sabrecat copy (like a big Snugpak response pak!). Nearly sorted, watch this space...

What about modding a PLCE sidepouch?

Modify it so it would have a waistbelt like the response pack or similar and with a yoke / shoulder strap then you could use it as a small back pack or zip it on a rucksack. Still quite bulky and with the attendant problems but with more volume to put stores in.
