What ya done now ???????
A Mum is never wrong, there word is law,
Mother is the word for God on the lips and hearts of all children.
(shamelessly taken from The Crow)
... Drew, it is the privelage of ALL parents to be right all of the time when it comes to their children.
Eventually when you have your own you get your turn to be right![]()
Man of Tanith (on the subject of meets)
My wife struggled to understand why I wanted to meet men off the internet in the woods... now she knows
told the bestfriend that i am planning going walk about by myself and before i did me mum said she wouldnt
like it and well she didnt and once again she was right errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it can get annoying
whats monkey?
"Oi! anyone wanna fight?"
Your lucky to have a mum.
I have a dad and hes always right, (even over his gas system, which would have a gas engineer in fits)
Drew, I* could've told you that disappearing for any length of time to go and enjoy yourself would meet with a low appreciation rating - and I'm a bloke
* along with a huuuuge percentage of the blokes on the forum
Its what some of us grew up with(as well as 'The Water Margin'
). Far better than watching a bear walk around starkers all day and then putting on clothes to go to bed - no wonder my generation grew up confused and disenchanted

Why's Mum objecting, Drew ?
Are there no assurances you can give her that'd put her mind at ease ?
It's hard though, knowing your children are doing something potentially dangerous/ accident prone/ where you don't know they're fine.
If we want them to thrive though we have to accept that they are adults, and it's their life, not ours.
I still panic when I know they're going climbing though, especially on iceI don't tell them that, then they'd fret about me worrying, I just ask that they phone me when they're coming home.
Best advice ? Small steps DrewNights out, weekends out, weeks out doing just the things that got her all bothered.
atb,
Mary

As you get older, they aren't Drew.
However my experience says don't point it out when they are wrong.
Particularly don't prepare a presentation on the subject.
With slides.
and handouts
and a carefully invited audience.
Just don't
