Yup it should be good. Already can see where the hammock will be hanging from the photos.![]()
It will be good to see you again Charles, is your brother coming up also?
What did you all do at the last meet for cooking? Just bring your own or was there a joint effort at a group meal with people bringing bits?
Aye shall be good to see you as well Pandabean, Peter should be coming.
Last time we all cooked for ourselves, but i would be up for a group pot.
Hi y'all
Think I missed the post with the dates, but looks like it might be a no-go for me due to sciaticaKeep in touch though
Looks like I won't have my Dutch oven in time for the meet as my birthday dosh is going towards a customised double ventile jacket from Hilltrek..... Still up for a group meal though!
If we can make it I'd be happy to bring my big Pot for a group meal.
It worked well at the last Comrie meet for Stew and holds enough for about 15- 20 large portions.
Cheers

Hi CBJ,
Can I express an interest in joining your meet on 22-24th April at Haddo. I am new to the bushcraftuk setup and haven't been to any meets, however did join the axe workshop that 'Dingus Magee' organised last year, so have met a few of the group.
Thank You
Hi Dave
I know what CBJ will say, so look forward to seeing you at Haddo.
Hi Dave your more than welcome mate,
A few of us are going to Haddo for a final look around etc and after that I will put up the meeting times and sort the list out.
If you need any more info give me a PM.
Thanks
Craig

It looks good for us coming.
Unless something changes with work we'll be there as long as we can bring the anklebiters.
No babysitter for that weekend. Is that ok with everyone?
I'd be happy to bring the pot and have a group meal
We'll need directions a bit closer to the date too.
It will be good to get to another meet and meet some new folks
Cheers

Can't speak for all, but no probs with kids with me. Only reason my wee one isn't coming is she is only 18 months old and too young to open my beers!!

Hey Folks,
A few of us went out to the site yesterday and had a look around, and it is a pretty good site. Hopefully Craig will put up a list of activities that are planned for the meet, main one being shelter building.
We will also have a nice parachute to sit under, thanks to charleslockerbie.
Parking is Pay and Display and will be in operation when we are there, however if you are a NTS member it will be free.

Below is an edited map of the area showing where the camp is. There is an alternative site for tents if people prefer a proper camp site. At this site there is toilet blocks, kitchen area and non-lumpy ground.
As for directions to the site, do not follow the directions google maps give you as this will take you along next to the Fishery and is a track more suitable for 4x4s or those that wish to have a challenge. We can put up directions later.
Details of which can be found here: http://www.gordondistrictscouts.org....d=50&Itemid=27

Is there no space for a tent in 'our' camp area?
That might make it a bit difficult for us with the kids, I didnt think of that...

Hi v-ness,
yep there is space for tents in the woods ( camp area) aswell ,
The actuall dedicated camp area I still have to look into (As I only found out about it yesterday) and is only there as a possible option for those who would prefer.
if we can use it, it would be entirley your choice if you want to pitch there or int the camp area.
hope this helps
Craig

Thats great, thanks Craig
I prefer to have the tent near to where we are for most of the time, just so the kids have a place to crash out when they're tired and it's still close enough for us to both keep and eye on them and get the chance to take part in whats going on.
Cheers

Hi Craig.
Thanks for the updates... Was just wondering if we are able to take our cars to the camp site to load / unload and then leave them in the carpark?
Cheers, Stuart
ness: No probs I totally understand.
Stuart: That should be no problem, either that or we can put everyones kit into the back of 1 car/van and take it down while the rest of us just walk down. David will be there ( Hes allowed to drive about the estate in his van) so should be ok.
If anybody has any questions let me know so I can sort it out straight away
thanks folks
Craig
