    Default Peculiarities?

My new 'partner' finds it odd that I cannot sleep indoors without the windows wide open! In my flat I have to have the windows and balcony door wide open, I know why this is but have never, until now, paid it much mind.

Anyone else experience this or are there any other minor eccentricities that your hobby/job/career/service has left you with? I am aware that some of you probably howl at the moon etc.

Yup same here chap, if i'm in the bath i have to lock the door or i can't put my head under, when i'm sleeping out i never use a torch unless i absolutly have to and i mean life or death, and I find it hard to hold a conversation with people face to face i just find small talk pointless, and i have issues with crowds, but none of this worries me if and when i'm working, don't know why just sort of switches off.

I won't ever sit with my back to the door, and I won't pee at a urinal if there's a stall (had a kicking at my most vulnerable once. Never again).

I never put the lights on until I have drawn the blinds/curtains, and I still stand to the side to draw them. I been out the mob since 84, but still can't knowingly make myself a target.

I always try to pass out nowhere near the bottom of stairs, I've been woken up by having my head stood on twice now and its no happening again.

oh yeah i have a great sense of direction when out and about can go for hours and still know where our starting place was, in towns and cities this is a different story.
i get out of victoria station walk for 30 seconds, and then have to look around for the station.

Same here. Thing is, I never realised I did it until I read your post.

I talk to myself. Even when completely alone. Its just thinking aloud to me, but other people seem to find it upsetting.

I have to drive with the window down, I hate the feeeling of being sealed in-same with the bedroom window.
Even when its minus something, its open.

This habit has probably cost me a lot of money in heating bills and fuel over the years!

i cant sit on the toilet without a knife nearby... just the only time i feel truly defenseless.
i work myself into a complete panic attack occasionally. i will see a moth move outside the window in the dark which will make me jump and then im off, everything makes me nervous. i cant close my eyes and keep glancing out the window. i can stop it now by staring out the window for a few minutes.
if i hear a noise that sounds like someone in the house i will go straight for my BB gun even though my room is full of sharps and air rifles. that one still baffles me.

    arent people strange!

also (i know, more!!), apparently im strange because when someone makes me angry i want to hurt them... is that me being weird or my parents? i thought that was the whole point of being angry...

Well....I sleep with the window open. Can't be doing with hot bedrooms either. Not keen on too much excessive light during the night, and sleep a bit like a dog,...always with one ear open.I enjoy cities, but not for long, and then tend to get the urge to return to work (the great ooutdoors).

I can normally talk to people perfectly easily, but when I'm video calling them on Skype, I get really shy for some reason.

I can sleep anywhere regardless of noise, and i can fall asleep in seconds, none of this tossing and turning to go to sleep business i put my head down and i'm gone.
the noise thing is because i'm from wythenshawe and the sound of gunshots at night... hehe no its the planes, being so close the the airport and under the flight path the houses rumble and shake. it actually helps me sleep when i'm staying at my nans.

toilets, honestly i thought i was the only one who couldn't use a urinal when there's others in there. i have to use a stall or i just can't go. you cannot believe how good it feels to know i'm not the only one. i used to sleep with the window open 24/7 even in the dead of winter but my wife put a stop to that sharpish as she's cold blooded
i also sing to myself regularly, i could be in the middle of a highstreet and singing and people will be looking at me well weird but its just something i do.
