Scotland in November

Hi All

After getting so much great advice for my trip to Egypt (sadly never happened, thanks BA cabin crew) I'm looking to pick your brains about Scotland.

I've gone and booked a navigation course up in Fort William which includes a night out on the mountains at the beginning of November. So what can I expect from the weather and recommendations on kit.

I've got a:
Webtex 120lt Bergen
Blacks Octane 1 tent
Buffalo jacket
RAB Latok Alpine Jacket
3 seasons sleeping bag
sleeping bag liner
Gortex bivi bag
Thermarest
Base layers, mids, fleeces etc
Gaitors
Hat
Gloves
Billy Can
Gas stove
(suggestions on food?)

I'd swap the 3season for a decent 4 even with the liner if you can, it can/will be very cold.

Yeh, Southey's right. Most years there is a dusting of snow on the tops in the first week in November. I think your kits about right, plenty of warm layers and waterproofs, make sure you're boots are up to the job. There's a supermarket in the Fort and a couple of decent gear shops if you forget anything.

For food I'd have a look at some calorie rich, tasty stuff mabey some boil in the bag ration type stuff, if your having a good hike about on your nav ex you'll probably want something easy/filling and hot like this http://www.armyrations.co.uk/categor...UK_Rations.htm not bought from them so can't comment on service just to give an idea.
