    Default fire steel.

I forged this fire steel from an old file the other day and it works great.

In the tin i have char cloth,a birch bark tinder tube,a roll of birch bark, fat wood, natural string, flint and petrified wood.

Nice job. What do you use the petrified wood for?

You need to heat it up first.About a bright red/orange colour should do.

I heat it up in my forge until it glows a bright orange-red and bend it with a couple of pairs of pliers,if im doing a more elaberate design ill bend it around a round bar.
