Good price.. But plastic shovels tend to have a nasty habit of breaking if you're using them in old snowpack with lots of rain freeze layers. They don't like chopping through refrozen snow or ice... Fine on fresh powder though...

I have had some plastic avalanche shovels that have lasted quite a while, great for weight saving but I know what you mean, they are not long termers.

The Alaska (as above) is aluminium, they reckon unbreakable and comes with a 2 year factory warranty.

This is my replacement winter pack carry, given it a bit of test today and i'm impressed, strong and light.
