This course is designed to give you a good grounding in field archery and leaving you wanting more. Set around the campfire, this course encompasses a range of practical field archery coaching, training and lessons to set you off on the path to field archery.
Mel and I have been training field archers for well over a decade and are two of a very small group of qualified Field Archery specific coaches. No big round targets in our woods. Some of you may have come across us at events such as the Wilderness Gathering.
The course covers subjects including;
- Personal outdoor safety and well being for the Field Archer.
- Legal considerations within Field Archery
- Safe shooting in the Field Archery environment.
- Field Archery etiquette.
- Field Archery equipment selection and maintenance.
- Fletching for Field Archery(arrow making).
- activities of the National Field Archery Society (NFAS)
When you leave the course you will know how to go about pursuing to field archery further and have the grounding to progress to the level that you desire.
The course will run from a Friday evening until the Sunday afternoon and will cost £100, which will include use of all equipment and materials. We will provide you with lunch on Saturday and Sunday and a hot meal on Saturday night. A well stocked brew box will be in operation at all times throughout the course.
Camping is included within the cost and there will be water available on site. We will also have at least one bush shower in operation.
The course will be limited to around 12 students.
