    Default No finger-nails Pen-Knife

Can anyone suggest a pen knife where there is a raised segment or substantial 'lip' so that if you have no finger nails like yours truly , you can still quickly get a blade out?

Help appreciated. Doesnt have to be a 'known' brand name.

sypderco ukpk is one i have i can open with one hand, it has a big hole in the blade you can use to lever open the blade
The things that come to those who wait will be the things left by those who got there first.

The new victorinox soldier comes to mind or the one handed trekker, basically same knife with no serrated blade.

How about an opinel with the locking ring popped off and a bit of a file on the handle:

The Spydercos are excellent but quite pricey and tactical-looking.

Thumb studs are an alternative. Various manufacturers use them.

Similarly, a small disc on the spine near the pivot works well. Shing (on Britishblades) makes some like this.

Most Friction folders (like the Svord, above) can be easily opened one handed. I have one that also has a spydie-hole. Personally, I don't get on with friction folders.

As you say, lots of choices- how much you want to spend and whether you want to be "UK EDC legal" will help narrow it down.

I will second the Svord as a great easy opener, some (not all) are sub 3" and therefor ideal EDC, they are great to use take and hold a wicked edge and have a great look as well.
    I realy like mine!

Maybe being a bit thick (been a long term) but do these open a little in the pocket and cut your lining out as the opener sticks out so far?
