    Default rugged river pack

id like to share a few pics of my new wilderness explorer pack made by rugged river. this pack is absolutely huge.

as you can see it has side poackets that can be removed but each side poacket will hold a 2 litre bottle of water.

i chose the khaki colour because i was getting a bit fed up with O/D

the pack also has this attached front pocket which can hold everything that you need to access quickly.

close up of some of the workmanship and the size of the body in the main pack

a shot of the pack with the side pockets removed

side shot of the pack with the sides removed

the straps on the side allow the pack to be sinched down making it good for day use

a good pack with huge carrying capacity but capable of being closed down for day use.excellent workmanship, im very happy with it

How comfortable is it when fully loaded with say a weekends stuff?? It's hard to see what the actual shoulder straps are like from the images...

it was something i was a little concerned about, however the straps are nice and wide so they don't dig in, width wise close to a decent belt as an idea
the way you pack it can influence the comfort and this is the first pack i have owned that hasn't had a frame so i am still getting used to that.
its going to get a decent outing soon i have a couple of minimal kit camps coming up then i plan to use it for every excursion i get out on

I used it when i last walked the Grantham canal, walking back from Nottingham. This is 30 miles, but obviously being a canal is flat !. I carried all i needed for a couple of nights out, and found the pack fine for me. Its not a pack to wear if you want to cover as many miles as possible, its weird, but it fits in with your surroundings & almost makes you want to slow down and appreciate whats going on around you.

They went out of buisness I am sorry to say.
The cost of the quality materials thery used made the end price would have to have gone up to the point that may not have been attractive.
I have this pack in olive.
It is a beautiful piece of work.
    My best.
    Chris.
