Swan mussels

Can anyone tell me if swan mussels are protected or is it just fresh water pearl mussels that are. If they're not, are they good eating or ?

As far as I know they are edible but illegal to take as they die out pretty easy. Sorry dude.

As far as I know, fresh water mussels are just as edible as salt water ones. Ray Mears was eating some with Les Hiddins on TV the other night. I can't believe that Aussie mussels are any different to British ones. In fact, I seem to remember Ray saying something to that effect.

Why not bring some along on Saturday and we can spend the night throwing up together.
