cool I love hearing these stories, I thought I saw one round here a long time ago, must be 10yrs but I'm a believer.

3' isn't that big though, surely it wouldn't take much fighting off?

This sounds like a large domestic cat gone feral. Wildcats are typically very shy around people but a formerly domestic cat doesn't fear people. I saw some enormous feral cats in Australia once.

I agree on the dragging -- that sounds strange to me. I suspect it was tugging on her sleeve or something and she *thought* she was being dragged.

The standard domestic feral cat is a lot stronger than it looks, but just going for someone is pretty bizarre behaviour for either ferals or big cats. We allegedly taste bad to cats.

A few years ago our local bbc showed cctv footage from industrial estate in telford. The footage was very clear, in front of the parked car was black cat whose head was at the hieght of the hood, it was considerably longer then any domestic cat and its tail was very long with a thickening at the end. They interveiwed the rspca and they said it was puma. I can't find the footage at all on the net, and what I have seen was a lot fuzzier than what was shown on local news. When RM was on richard and judy, richard asked him if he believed in big cats in britain, ray replied "yes, i have seen them". Ok he might of being trying to wind up the idiot.

I personally believe there are big cats out there. There have been a few sightings from people who aren't mad or confused. Tracks have been found that add to the evidence. Big cats are very much like their smaller feral cousins, they are elusive, shy and damn sneaky. They don't want to be caught and are scared of just about anything on two legs. Who can blame them really.
