Thread: Looking to borrow/hire a canoe in Spring

Default Looking to borrow/hire a canoe in Spring

Does anybody have a spare canoe they`d be able to lend me for a weekend in Spring. I`m not sure of an exact date yet but I`ll confirm nearer the time. I am of course willing to pay a fee if you would prefer to hire out rather than lend.
I`d also need some means of transporting it on my car, is a regular roof rack okay or would it damage a canoe ?
I`m down to attend a new course with one of the bushcraft schools and if I can source my own craft then I can get a hefty discount, and the chance to get some sneaky practice in.

Hi Shewie I have just got off the phone to Stu at apache canoes (i was ringing him to sort out my new 14 footer) and told him about your needs. He has agreed to sort you out with a canoe if you get in touch with him. It is best to ring him on his mobile, I will pm you his phone number but his webiste is

I have had the 15 foot version, i currently own a 16 foot model and have a 14 foot on order.
They are ok on a roof rack just got to strap them down right.
    Hope this helps. Greg

Cheers.... but its not me Its Stu you need to suck up to all I did was tell him about your post, as I was on the phone to him. Give him a ring and sort out exactly what you need for the trip as he does a few different models and I dont know what he has ready at the moment.
