Thread: Is this turkey tail?

    Default Is this turkey tail?

Went out for a wander at the weekend and got this pic. I'd like to send it in to rogers to help build up the pics on the site but being a beginner didn't want to send it with the wrong name! Found it growing on a fallen tree.

Also found this one! I love this mushroom! Not too hard to ID! The rest of the group I was with were even quite interested after giving me some strange looks when I ran off into the woods to take pictures of pretty plain looking little brown mushrooms.

    Ok Here goes.
I would have to say was a bracket fungus called Many-Zoned Polypore (coriolus versicolor), not necessarily poisonous but inedible due too it's leather like texture.
Not heard it called turkey tail before although its easy to see how it gets that name.
    Excellent pics by the way

Oooh, top one is gorgeous! Nice picture! Very pretty mushroom. Note to self, must pay more attention to polypores!
Fractured thoughts and...my heart's breaking. The ground where once i stood, now steady as gossamer dreams.
