Hi guys, had a nice time down the woods as per normal Bushcrafter I took far too much kit,

I'll just add text to the pictures Kev has posted above:

top left photo:Andy.C (sitting) under his home made bed sheet tarp, myself (standing), Kev took the pictures.

Top Right: Fox tracks Certainly lots of evidence of wild animals, as well as other creatures and though we didn't see them we also heard Pheseants, Deer and Owls and Woodpeckers.

Middle photo: photo of the camp, Andy's huge DDtarp (left) Kevs Quad and fireplace in the middle, my tarp you can't quite see but is low down (to the right), the sandy one was quick job to keep the rain off kit.

Bottom photo: The camp fire, a seemingly unending supply of firewood provided by "Doris" most of it ash, so easy to light too. Kevs cooking ironwork on show, in the foreground, my 1st attempt at a basic rocket stove, there were a few discarded bricks and I thought why not, with the metal plate (on the ground) i used it as a lid and cooked on it, well worth the effort!

Heres another view of the camp, before Kev arrived, my tarp in the foreground (I was on a rollmat this time):

and My rocketstove lit and working well: I tried to fill gaps between the bricks with dirt, it was only a quick job but seemed to work well, the sticks are just to hold it in place.

I didn't get a decent photo of Andy's walking stick/grill/ember poker & blower, a very clever idea, I'm going to try to copy!

Oh BTW I slipped in the ditch this time on the way out, but I only got a wet boot!

Though it was a bit cold, and a bit windy, and a bit wet, we had the right kit...(i.e. warm/waterproof).
It was a nice place to camp, just far enough from the locals to be wild, and close enough to get help if you needed it!
You can see from the photos, there is loads of choice for tarp/hammock hanging trees, I'll definitely be going to the site again...with a smaller bag

    Hi Kev,

hows tricks? I'd definitely be interested in a day out in the woods. My little boy wants to get some woods time too. although his idea of camping is watching me set the tent up, sitting outside until it's dark then going indoors to bed

I'd be happy just for a daytime meet up, my back is still playing up so not sure sleeping out is a good idea, but would love to meet up.
