A note on the Bushcraft Ethos of Scout Camps.
Mininum Impact!! A shame to hear, but Please Read the thread, and see some of the frustrations organisers have to deal with!.. dont become one of the few who 'DONT' clearup.. become one of the many who 'DO'!!

Hopefully we are a small enough group to easilly keep ontop of this, plus the site isnt exactly wilderness so not far to tidy anything too!

May have missed this in a post but here goes.
What do you think about me bringing a few blades along as swapsies and some to play with as long as were away from Jo Public? Would be spoon blades mainly, may have a few bushy types if I get some made.

    Kev,
Sounds interesting, as we have not got it confirmed yet we dont know what limitations would be placed on our activities but i cant see this being an issue.

    Hi All

If we do get together why dont we bring along some bushy stuff to swap or sell? I have got quite a few bits and may be interested in a spoon tool Kev.

    Cheers

Sorry Tim, didn't mean to scare anyone or be negative, just thought I'd share what I've read with all you other good sensible Camb bush crafters.
If we all help with eyes and ears, I'm sure we'll all have a great relaxed, easy going time!

    ---------ALL PLEASE NOTE------
    !IMPORTANT UPDATE!

    Hi all,

I have just heard from the Site and its a mixed bag im afraid.

On the bad side the weekend we had hoped for is booked up.

However on the plus side the site have confirmed that they would accept a booking from us and invited us to get back with alternative dates.

    So back to weekend choosing!

    :-)

do we know of free dates that the site has? and if so could any of those be worked around our list of unavailable dates?

    if that makes sense??

    eel,
Im afraid not but they did suggest the weekend either side as likely candidates.

would prefer the weekend after (27/28th), as it is Mothering Sunday the weekend before (14th) - very much doubt i'd get a pass for that weekend!

  19. #79

Well the 27-28th is good for me, but i am aware that Wolfcrafter - who after all did find the site in the first place, might not be able to make it.
Lets see if there are alternative suggestions...?
    Responses welcome!

    Ok folks,
Will give it a day or two to try to get the numbers about right then i'll book it.
If anyone else would like to say if they are (or are not able to make it) it would be good.

Might be a good time to mention that there will be a booking form and declaration etc so do need to know who is coming.
    :-)

Kev - hope you can make it for some of the day sorry about the clash!

    Craeg,
Sorry that some might not be able to attend, however one meet doesnt stop there being more!
It would be nice to get a monthly spot but i think as long as its not a complete wash out the date is likely to stay for this meet.
For locals dont forget there can be the option of coming down just for the day.
    cheers
