Just rediscovered this thread - I'm in Gloucester - anything happening/planned?
Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.

dunno if its any use but theres a campsite just outside chepstow called beeches farm that allows campfires .
may be a place to meet? i know its not actually bushcraft but you could probably hone some fire skills? etc.

Hi there i just wanted to raise my head and get in on this thread. I've lived on my boat in sharpness for over 3 years now and went to the moot in merthyr mawr this year. Have i met any of you? Anyway i would love to get involved in anything going on around here. My thoughts on good sites have got as far as thinking to chat up Lord Berkeley, but not as far as actually doing it Has anyone else tried him or had similar thoughts? He does appear to own most of the proper woods round here and up the little Avon.

ok i have been reading this thread and im going to take the bull by the horns i am planning a meet next month friday the 12th dec for the weekend in west wood wiltshire/glous area near marlborough it will be a semi stealth as it is forrestry commission land and i have a very good undestanding with the wildlife ranger he lets me camp and meet up with other bushcrafters in return i guarentee that i will litter pick for at least 1 day a month (blooming chavs camping and leaving there carling cans everywhere)
ok so, we are going to meet up at the nothh west entrance to west woods it isnt signed but it is on the map it is the road going up to the wooded area with a mobile fone mast track parking is at the bottom of the road jut where you pull in dont drive up the hill as if it rains you will get stuck!!!!!
there is NO !!! water on site so bring what you need/want ther is a large over fire grill and a pretty good camp oven fire powered of course....
as for who come no SAS whannabes or racist bigots... this is a bushcraft meet not a lash up so please dont get messy,, tipsy and jovial is cool
im sure you all know the score lets keep it sweet for the future
    PS its free too

Some like it cold... Havent got round to the berkeleys yet. To tell the truth, not much incentive without other people as i pretty much live like a gypsy anyway Have had higher prorities atm too, like getting funding for a youth project here, getting work for myself etc. Maybe in the spring!

    Hey all.
Sorry, been away for a while due to the arrival of child number 3, plus major work commitments. But I'm back in the land of bushcraft now and so would like it if we could organize a meet locally.
As I've said before, I have use of a small woodland area owned by my family, so we could maybe meet there (about 3 miles North East of Stroud).

    Here we go.

Booked - Gloucestershire BushcraftUK Meetup / Pint / Chat / Whatever

    Wednesday 17th February - 8pm

Longford Inn - Beefeater - Gloucester (loads of space normally in bar area and easy to find)

I will be there. i'll be wearing dark green fleece and have a pint in front of me. Probably half full (notice... my outlook on life!!)

    Who's coming????

I am in the Forest Of Dean, and there are lots of places where you can be forestry Free, some cool caves as well, and of course the Wye Valley.

Hi KedWood, welcome to the forum.
You are so lucky to be living in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.
I'm definately up for a night in the forest, if you're thinking that way. I know one or two others that could be interested too.

Why don't we organise a night at a pub somewhere,so we can get our group on the go?
Bring along a favourite bit of kit,a project or just your ideas.
What about 'Theocs house' in Tewkesbury?....Nice and quiet, parking at the rear.
What about next week,say..the 9th or 10th at about 8pm.....
