    Default New year new skills

Right less chatter more down to earth, tasks at hand so to speak. Reading the stuff and seeing pics/films of who to do things is great, but i need to educate my cold wrinkly brain. I am wanting to continue learning knots etc, make more than just sticks from wood and I plan to do some Falconary this year too, if I can find someone locally. My colds nearly gone and Im heading of tomorrow for a walk from Claxton to Reedham, along Wherrymans way. Hopefully find somewhere suitable to camp later in the year.

    Thumbs up

    Hi again,
Just come back from a family get together in the fenns, very cold, one of the rivers we drive alongside for miles was totally frozen over!

can't believe it apples still on the trees!
I think I'm going to be more adventurous food wise this year so if you have any bush tucker to try i may just take you up on it! (probly! )

just reading a book by bear grylls, and to be fair he is a nutter, but he also comes out with alot of sense about food scavenging (no i won't eat raw zebra!)

apart from the mental stuff he does he seems to have his head screwed on!

Hi guy's like the pic Damascus! (is that a "J" stroke?)

just a reminder to get a full day out we'll have to get to Lowerstoft at 9:30 this Saturday
I'll pick up Lord lurcher around 8:15
and Globetrotter around 8:30 hope that's ok.
i reckon if the going's well it should take about an hour to get from Norwich to Lowerstoft.

I'm already for a good day in the woods with old and new friends, learning new stuff and exploring the countryside in the freezing weather.

thanks to KevB for showing us the woods definitely up for meeting there again! it was a long way but worth it!

great picture of the muntjac globetrotter, i saw you look through your camera but didn't think you'd get a pic! (it was running fast a couple of hundred yards away!

I'm not sure the photos give justice to how @**&^%£$"£% freezing it was! i think we all got cold to some extent, (i did buy some de-icer screenwash on the way home!).

oops, got to go to the shops for milk.....

There's a friend of mine that owns a small wood in south walsham, we might be able to use, I'm sure she woulden't mind us camping out, if you don't mind cooking on an open fire!
We may not be able to go there this time but I'll ask next time i see her.

any suggestions as to where to meet this time?

sorry to hear that mate, it must have been quite recent,
we're all here for you anyway .

Snufkin PM'd me saying he has PC problems prehaps we could meet near him, prehaps in those woods we went to last year?

it's North Walsham woods (North of North walsham), mixed woodland it's where we built a Lean-to from fallen pine trees.

    what say the people?

It's actually Bacton Woods on the OS map but it's near North Walsham. It gets really crowded on weekends though. We could luck out and it rains, in which case there won't be too many people around. Given a bit of notice I could get a Saturday off (pretty quiet this time of year and I've a few days of holiday left).
