    Default Campsites list (allowing fires)

In my search for campsites for my escapades next year I came across this website that I thought would be of great interest to us all on here. It's a website that lists quite a few campsites which allow fires http://www.campfiresburning.org/sites.php and there's another here some the same as the first http://www.glynymulfarm.co.uk/
I can't vouch for how accurate the information is, and it maybe best to contact the campsites first to check that they really do allow a fire instead of just turning up.
It's by no means an exhaustive list as there are a few I know of that arn't on there and I expect some others know.

Anyway i thought it'd be of interest to everyone as we're all a bunch of pyromaniacs and there have been a few moans about not generally being allowed a fire. Worth a trawl through though. Some allow rallies so there's lots of potential for local meet-ups too.............Don't say I don't do anything for you

The Glyn-Y-Mul Farm site is where the South Wales Chapter of BCUK tend to meet, top place that positively welcomes fires and things of a 'sharp' nature, especially when they are being tended or brandished by responsible and educated members of the community.

There is a public footpath through the site and you tend to get non-bushcrafters wandering through of a Sunday morning. There are one or two raised eyebrows when Ogri the Trog has his Cegga singing or Timinwales is sharpening his machete, but they calm a little wjhen they realise we are not some Paramilitary group. Some have even been invited to sit by the camp fire and end up being potential converts to the bushcraft life.

Yes, if anyone find's themselves in South Wales and fancy a couple of nights under canvas, visit Glyn-Y-Mul or give the South Wales boy's a shout.

Was gonna add http://www.invercaimbecaravansite.co.uk/ at Arisaig, but it's in. As long as the fires below high tide, nae probs.

I've been thinking of renting out my woods so bushcrafters can have a small fire, not sure how much to charge.

  7. Talking I know of one or two

    Hi,
I went to two campsites this year that allow fires but like most of them you have to buy a bag of logs off them at £5 a throw, one bag does last me two days though.
To have a look see follow this link where i have put a few photos up

Don't stay to long though or you will never be the same again.

Yellow wood charges £5 a night + £5 a barrow of fire wood.

We stayed here over Summer (car camping with family).

They allow fires on the river edge in established stone circles or in fire bowls elsewhere.

Site does get busy at peak times, no booking allowed, but is very quiet - even when full.

They say you can fish in the river, but I didn't see any!
