    Question Help!!

Can anyone help identify a fungus I saw last week when walking in my local wood?
There were two of them side by side, I thought perhaps they were puff balls, but these were light brown with darker flecks on them. They were about the size of a large marble. I would like to know if they can be identified, and if they can be, can they be eaten? If they can, what is the best way to eat them and what with?

Don't eat them if this is what they are!

    Yep,
I'd say earthball from the description as well though it's hard to be 100% without seeing at least a piccie. As Adi says if you arn't certain don't eat. Keep in mind that in the short time left to them people who eat deathcap and destroying angel are frequently reported to have said they tasted really good The old myth that toxic things are all bitter tasting just dosn't work!
    Cheers
