It got me thinking, which has progressed into a deal on Joby SLR gorillapods, if you’re into any type of photography then these are a fantastic addition to your kit. It will still fit a compact - just means that you get more leg to wrap round stuff and it will be a bit more stable when you perch it on things.

Hello all,
Catching up from Sunny Kuching after surviving the wilds of Mulu and the Pinnacles.
I bought the compact one to use on the road and I reckon it's better to go for the SLR one as above - I've struggled a bit getting the compact one to be really stable when gripping railings or branches etc - it's only really sturdy enough for the really compact jobs like an ixus or and exilim. Even if you've got a Rangefinder size camera the bigger one would be the one to go for.
