anyone out there know of anywhere at kielder a couple of overgrown kids with their sons can camp, have open fires and tone their bushcraft skills away from the crowds.

I really doubt there is anywhere at Keilder that this will be possible. The dense pine woods are an obvious fire hazard so i cant see the forestry commission being keen on the idea at all!

There are a couple of campsites by the lake which may allow open fires if you ask but i think they will probably be closing at the end of this month.

Kielder won't allow fires, but remember the forest is just a couple of miles from the Scottish border. Whole nother set of rules there!
