IKEA are selling a scandinavian water stones in a latex rubber box for £4.

They're harder than the standard Jap ones but thus far the one I have works well and being smaller and square is excellent for your axe.

Another plus is the rubber doesnt slip in the work surface either!

Bit of a bargin me thinks!!

Looks like a great deal to me, snap it up while you can mate.

I got mine from Axminster for £12 :(

It is nice and long though, although it's only for finishing... need to get myself a bigger grade one now.

    Cheers

probably Alick - but I cant remember - just check of the kitchen dept and look for them there in blue rubber (soapdish) boxes.

Carlo - the Axminster tools ones are good and these are what I use at home and when on courses but the IKEA one would be good in the field or at a base camp especailly if other less experienced people where wanting to use it too.

As I say I'm still trying it out at the moment but it does seem to be favourable and my axe comes up really well with it.
