Thread: A night out

    Default A night out

Well I finally managed to get out since the frenzy of AS levels. Tried out group buy tarp (cheers Magikelly), and also hammocking in the woods (in a fashionable pink hammock I found lying around the house). Cooked my most successful bannock yet, and also managed to try out my 'fire tray' (round backing tray from poundland). Very nice, calm night. Woke up early (for once) when it was still lovely and cool. Nice to wake up with the dawn.

Would've taken pictures but forgot camera...along with my ridge line too! Doh'

Haven't managed the woods for a while now (busy gutting the lounge etc !) but I have managed to combat the warm nights by slinging my HH in the garden - no tarp, just a great view of the stars. Much more comfortable than a sweaty night inside !
If you can't fix it with Duct tape you hav'nt used enough !

Sounds great. I'm off on Sunday for a couple of days canoeing on Loch Sheil in the west of Scotland. Going to try out a new ash paddle a friend made me as a present for a 'significant' birthday. Hope the midges are kind!

This is a rubber mesh, used under rugs on laminate flooring. This piece is only 15cm x 10cm but is more than enough to stop my mat slipping around
You can buy it in rolls from carpet shops and I've also see nit in Tesco's.

Oooops, posted this in the wrong thread

    Smile new site

Just back from a very nice spot I found. Walked through fields and a fruit orchard to get there. Found a good spot and made a base camp. While it is within the sound of the motorway, as is virtually eveything in the south east, I spent a wonderful few hours with a great friend. Next trip its spend the night.

The level of sanity and mental quiet being in the woods brings is outstanding.
