Default More Ray Mears On Dvd

EARLIAR THREADS WERE STARTED, LETS KEEP THE PACE GOING:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

Over the past years I have thoroughly enjoyed watching 'Bushcraft' presented by Ray Mears and his other series of 'Extreme Survival and Heroes of Telemark, all of which I have purchased on DVD.

Rays earlier programmes, namely 'Tracks' and 'World of Survival'. Are not available to buy on DVD, This is an enormous pity as 'Tracks' is often regarded in the bushcraft community as the best series he has made, and was one of my most favourite programmes. Rays growth in popularity and almost legendary status amongst outdoor enthusiasts is meaning that more people are aware of his earlier programmes and want to buy a copy.

I have contacted the BBC regarding this matter and they replied giving me this address and saying that you would be willing to consider the release of the 2 series on DVD in the near future.

It would be fantastic to see both of these series available to buy on DVD, I believe that there must be thousand of people in the UK that would love to buy these DVD’s.

Would you be willing to commission both 'Tracks' and 'World of Survival' for public release on DVD, surely as many people watch Rays programmes as watch the Attenborough nature documentaries.

I don't exactly understand it just yet...

It looks like a decent letter and I would really like to buy both if they come out.
Is this a 'amnesty international' type of thing, that we all could send a copy of this letter to the address mentioned in order to leverage some action out of that company to speed things up a bit???

    Please advice..

Have a look at this thread this will clear things up a bit about the background and reason etc. for this post / thread. (Although I don't understand why it's started in a new thread )

EDIT: Overlooked the heading / subtitle:

    Hi All

I sent my letter off a while back and recieved the following reply today:

    "Dear Mr Hainsworth

Many thanks for your letter dated 21st April 2006, and please accept my apologies for the tardy response.

I'm afraid there are currently no plans to release TRACKS or WORLD OF SURVIVAL on DVD. Many thanks for bringing the titles to my attention, and rest assured i will investigate a possible future release.

In the meantime, I hope you continue to enjoy our output.

    Your sincerly

    DANIEL HALL

Not the answer we were hoping for but not a definate no!

Hopefully more letters may sway them into a timely release of these excellent shows

    CR@P !!

I have send my letter last wednesday.

I bet we'll just have to do it the 'shawshank redemption'- way: one letter a week for a couple of years and then two letters a week...

Just to get the bloke's attention so frequently that it starts to get TOO annoying.

OK, I'm with you and will bang a simular letter off on Monday. Does anyone know if it is possible to directly email the cheese in charge of releasing DVDs? This way we could all really swamp em.

    Heh heh

No there is no e-mail address on the return letter strangely enough

I think they might have anticipated that idea moko!

However for the price of a few stamps i am happy to enter into "regular" correspondance with Mr Hall
