Thread: quick trangia question

    Default quick trangia question

    Hey all,

I have a swedish military stainless steel trangia coming my way. I just read somewhere that the paint can burn off... Have any of you had this before? Is there a cure?

    Thanks,

    Bjorn

My mess kits still has their original paint even after a LOT of use. In the worst case just repaint it.

I used paint remover on my pots. Don't try to remove the paint off of the black stove part.

Speaking of black soot, is there a quick and dirty trick to removing the residue on canteen cups caused by hexy tablets? I've been using trioxane for so long that I've forgotten what happens when I cook on hexy. I've read that a damp tissue while the cup is still warm works, or smearing the bottom with diswashing liquid also works. Anyone else have any tips?
