    Default fun with tarps

this must be the most comprehensive tarp site on the internet, but beware you seem to need a degree in origami http://www.equipped.org/tarp-shelters.htm

Fair enough, but if its tipping it down with rain and its nearly dark, I think i'll just stick with the traditional ridge tent style thats quick and easy to do. Even if I have all day to put up my tarp I still wouldnt bother with some of those designs, far to complicated!!!
    I'm not lost, I'm somewhere where I don't know where I am.

I have used the Diamond Fly (about 2/5 of the way down the page) for many years now. With the addition of a sewn on loop in the direct center of the tarp, it makes an exceptionally good shelter. Very simple set up. An advantage if you're in a hurry or after dark.
