I love the size (its perfect), features and design of this bag:)...just can't understand why they did not stick to the same materials as used on the rest of the sabre line
Here in Montana i work in the mountains and while i don't abuse my equipment, my packs see a lot of hard service....
so before i take the plung...i'm really curious...can the Karrimor SF Sabre 35 liter Ruck Take IT????

Any help from you fellers across the pond (YAE OR NAY) would be most welcome....sincerely..:woodsru nner

Hi guys, ok this is my first thread so forgive my nievaty

Im just starting out with bushcrafting and i am looking at buying my first serious pack (im about 6foot1inch as i know hight can make a difference), i have looked at the british army PLCE Bergen with side pouches
(120L) and i like the adaptability and utility of a militry backpack and personaly perfer the millitry look to the civvy style but im worryed ill abuse the 120L capacity and in turn abuse my back and shoulders.

So the first trip i have coming up is me and one other person traveling to scotland and camping for 6 nights in vairious locations between us we have my 30L northen island patrol pack and i want to take one other larger pack, as well as the PLCE bergen i have looked at some of the slightly smaller 60L PARA Backpacks around.

Can anyone advise on a good pack given my situation and recommend a size i.e. is 120L to big, is 60L too small?

Hello all,

Can anyone shed any light on the original date of introduction of the Berghaus Cyclops Centurion? Were these initially available in canvas like the Cyclops Roc, or were they only ever made in nylon or cordura? Having searched through previous posts on the forum, there doesn't seem to be a clear date of introduction. circa 1982 would seem to be the concensus, but were they available before the Falklands War, and if so in which fabrics?
Though Berghaus are a very helpful lot, enquiries to them often throw up dates which are a bit suspect!

Cheers
I was wondering if anyone who uses the DD Camping Hammock had used it sleeping between the two hammocks, rather than on top. If so, is it comfortable and practical to do so, in terms of breathability/condensation/temperature etc.? I'm looking to use it in midge and mozzie country, so wondered if sleeping in the middle would offer protection from bugs, or if I should go for the Travel version instead?

Any insight much appreciated!

I have been using the DD 3x3 tarp for quite a while now and only recently wondered how people attach a utility line to it underneath the tarp as the hoops for the ridgeline are on the outside.

Has anyone got any good modifications to add a utility line?

Has you got experience of using the Snugpack Paratex?

Up until now I haven't used a sleeping mat of any kind but I have just cut down an old foam mat, but it's only about 10mm (5/8") thick.
I've looked online and there aren't really many that are thicker, and the ones that are are inflatable, which I don't want. :(
