Yay, the first blog post.

I contacted Giles from Drink-Safe a few weeks back regarding some of the excellent water purifiers that they produce, Giles is very help guy and we spent considerable time talking about the pros and cons of the different products that they deal with. Eventually he offered to send me some items to test, these are the Waterstraw, the Explorer Canteen 1.0 Litre, the Aquaguard Eliminator inline filter and the Drinksafe Waterbag Supalite green. Hot in from MSR is their Carbon Reflex 3 Ultralight tent. The carbon reflex is a tunnel tent with top pole to give extra support, the tent weighs just 2084g and initial impressions are good, quick to set up plenty of space inside. I'm planning on taking the Carbon Reflex 3 to Scotland for 3 weeks through the summer so a full review to follow, anyone attending the Moot can have a look there as well.

What a fantastic weekend, I've just spent 4 days in the Welsh hills with a fantastic group of students doing their silver Duke of Edinburgh award practice expedition. Weather was good and a I got a few opportunities to stroll up a few peaks whilst waiting for them, campsites were remote and apart from the mental stress of running this sort of expedition it was quite a refreshing break.
