I have a knife i picked up a while back second hand and would like some info on it ive tryed web searching etc

its marked with an insignia 'HELLE-BARD' Which is in a shield with 3 Halibard heads and Made in Norway underneath

its also marked 'Artemis Bowie' with 'Design S.BERKEMAN'

it apears to be a Tri Laminate blade but has a very plain striaght handle and pretty simple sheath

Sounds like you should visit the Helle website www.helle.no

You may find it there,

Good luck!

Just remebered the guy i in the shop (who is a mate of mine )
Told me it was made and issued to Rally drivers (cant remember which one) for the Norwiegen leg for dispatching any deer etc hit

I have no idea if this is true and it dosnt really make much difference to me

from the above website it is definatly a Helle Blade though not any of the designs current or even related from its name it does have the Bowie point and front blade shape its got a small finger guard which is 2mm flat and similer pommel end to teh plain wood handle

Cheers jake I was hunting for Hellebard

There's a Sune Berkeman has a Swedish book on knots & ropework. Wonder if it is the same person?
