I was making my daily visit to the Ditch Monkey website to make sure the lad is surviving ok out there and came across a rather interesting article regarding a memorial to the late, Crazy Horse.

Check out Ditch Monkey's article here:

or go straight to the memorial site:

A remarkable feat of human endeavour I am sure you will agree.

Have any of our fellow Bushcrafters seen this monument or have pictures of it??

I watched a discovery programme about it and the scale of it is enormous!
Got no pictures though, sorry.

I read somewhere that it overlooks Mt. Rushmore. :You_Rock_

I didn't go into the site, but according to lore, *His Crazy Horse* (real name translated to English) last words before dying from a wound he received while in captivity were, "I will return in stone", or something similar.

Hi,

Went to the monument in the autumn of '93, not sure how much progress has been done in the last 12 years but due to the scale of the job it might be hard to notice any major changes. It doesn't overlook Mt. Rushmore as far as I recall. The Black Mountains are a beatiful area to visit if you ever get the chance.

The only picture I have looks the same as the ones on the site so no help there, I'll post it if you want ( if I can work out how to  ) I guess most pictures are taken from the road that passes the site.

It doesn't overlook Mount Rushmore but it is certainly very close. I went to Mount Rushmore first and was a little underwhelmed - I had always imagined it to be much bigger. Seeing Crazy Horse an hour later blew me away, it was amazing.
