Wot Fungus?

Hi All,

Anyone got any ideas what type(s) of fungus will grow on a dead horse chestnut bough. It's bracket shaped - sorry no pic

Any help is appreciated

Small 8-15 cms at the moment. Pores. Bracket fungus. Cappucino to dark brown in colour. Will try for pics on the way to work tomorrow.

Could well be artist's conk - ganoderma applanata

It's a bit late in the season for them, but this year's been all over the place :rolleyes:
