Might be interested depending on timings etc.
Anyone got a spot we can legally use?

Rumcelt
20-12-2011, 19:44
Hi David

I dont know if we have any ware we can go that is legal, but two head are better than one and if we pool our resources we might get that holy grail of a legal woodland camp site we can use.

This an aspiration admittedly.

I can invite some of you for some field archery at my club in the new year if there's any interest. (I think the club asks for a couple of £ from non-members).
No bushcraft type activities allowed there though.

I am interested and in Suffolk I have access to a small site that is maybe a possibility. Can't really talk to the owner until New Year.

Hi all,
That could be cool to do. I would be in for a new year meet. I may even be able to find a wood where we could camp and do a small bit of archery maybe....

I belong to Whitefriars Bowmen. There are campsites in the area, but nothing bushcraft friendly that I am aware of. It would just be a couple of hours of field archery. Club meets are usually Sunday mornings.

I'd be interested. Can't contribute more than 'willing to learn' at the moment.

One day I will own a wood of my own...

I'm interested.
Got a forest where I practise now, been giving permission in the past for fires and camping overnight, so could try there? Big forest, rabbits, deer, snakes, badgers, foxes. Plenty of different types of trees.
If we get a rough figure of numbers and duration, I'd be more then happy to try and get permission.

The site is located just outside of Ipswich.

Hmmm, seems to be getting quite popular now. Which is excellent.

Bigstu: ex army sleeping bag? Would that be the British issue? What I've got, can highly recommend it. Bit heavy but that's down to the outer water proof layer.

As for dates, well I'm going on a test run hopefully on Friday 27th. Anyone welcome to come.
I'm always good to go on on a Friday night and every other Saturday. If got enough nofice, can book time of work, so could do any date really.
How bout you?

Guess it depends on how badly everyone itching to get out. Know I am... A LOT!!

Maybe if everyone could say what days they are available, we could get a general idea when to plan it for?

BenCalver

Friday the 27th looks good to me, the only thing I would have to come from work as I got to work that day, I got to check the dairy and see if I am not seeing the kids, yeah I ordered the Arctic British Army one from ebay at lunchtime, :-).

Just been on the tinternet, and yes more items brought, a Mora clipper, and a tarp, a fire steel, some paracord......

BenCalver
10-01-2012, 20:50
Good bit of kit. Love the sleeves on it.
I'll be using that, dd tarp and hammock.

Is anyone else available for Friday 27th?

And anyone any good at foraging? Something I'm keen to learn.

Forgot to add:
If you can't find basha/tarp, can borrow my spare one.
And what time will you be finishing work mate?

It sounds like it to me,be good to start one on here, one problem I have found with forum groups, is that everyone wants to join but a number don't take an active part, can we make it that we only accept invites from those really interested, and take part, it may sound silly but whats the point of having people that are not rely intrested and active.

I am wondering about starting a new thread in the right section, just saying "Suffolk Buschcraft Group"
