Hi,

I am currently looking to upgrade my sleeping bag, and I have decided on the "Nanok Endurance SF" range.

I now have to decide whether to get the "Nanok Endurance SF -25" or "Nanok Endurance SF -10".

Edit:

Or Do I get both the "Nanok Endurance SF 0" and "Nanok Endurance SF -10", as I understand the the "Nanok Endurance SF -10" will fit inside the "Nanok Endurance SF 0"

Does anyone have any recommendations on which to choose?

Cheers

Does anyone know how the Nanok bags compare to wiggys (http://www.wiggys.com/) ?

I one of the Nanok 0c bags that Outdoorcode was selling cheap and it's superb. I found it a very roomy bag (I'm 6'2" and on the cuddly side :D ) and I actually found it way too warm for late summer use but then I do sleep warm anyway. It even has a bucket that velcros into the bottom if you have to keep your boots on that can also be used to collect water apparently. The double zip down either side is very usefull as well for ventilation. As soon as I have the spare cash I'll be getting the -10 as well as it's designed to slide down inside the 0c for a complete sleeping system

The nanok 0c bag I got from Andrew at outdoorcode is, in my opinion suitable for pretty much any weather condition from early spring to late autumn and has some brilliant features. Would highly recommend it.

I'm totally unsure as to which would be the best to choose. The -25 seems to make more sense as I should never be to cold, but I could very well be to warm.

I thought about this as well, but the weight (4130g) and packing size is putting me off.

Does anyone know what rating it would have if the 0 and -10 are combined? As I can't find anything on their website.

I suppose the problem is that I don't want to buy one and find that It doesn't suit my needs.

I've just come back from the Scottish Meet where I used the Nanok 0 bag. On the first night the sky was clear and the temperature was down to a nippy 3-5 degrees!

I'm usually a cold sleeper, and I started out in a hammock, but was just fractionally too cold in it (with a thermarest in the bag underneath me).

Switching to being in a bivvy bag on the ground and I was plenty warm enough.

A few other people there had the -10 as well inside it and said they were nice and warm.

Saturday night was probably closer to 10- 13 degrees, and I was lovely and warm all night, even thinking I was at home in bed when I woke up, until i noticed the tree when I opened my eyes :D

Think I'll be investing in the -10 as well if I plan to do any outdoor camping later on this year...

Hi Match, by this do you mean you perfer to be cool while sleeping, or that you feel the cold very easily?

Cheers.

I was on Gary's Greenhorn Course at the weekend in a small tent and on Saturday night (I was using a cheap millets 3 season thing and) I was cold.

I really want one that I can use both in a hammock and in a bivi, mostly in the UK but I would like to go to Sweden next year though.

Grez..

I've used the -25 bag in -35 and below. You will not be able to sleep in it in Staffordshire!
I'd say the 0 bag is enough for UK all year round, but I'm a warm sleeper. Thing to remember is that Nanok ratings are true ratings. :)

The Endurance bags are large and heavy, but they have many many other advantages. Search for "Nanok" on the forum and you'll find hundreds of topics, including this one: http://www.bushcraftuk.com/community/showthread.php?t=7227&page=2&pp=10 which explains the three Nanok product lines.

Thanks for all the advice and comments. :)

I think I will be going for a 0 and maybe a -10 (at a later date). I reckon that this combination will cover every possibility I will ever use it for. :)

To answer you question from earlier a 0°C and -10°C is rated at -20°C when used together :)
