I'm thinking of getting a "reasonable" quality hammock this year and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for prices/types/places where they're available. At the moment I'm tenting (in a rather nice Jack Wolfskin Termite2) or using a goretex bivvy bag; and would like to try this different way of camping.

I have access to several ponchos that are in resaonable condition, could they be used in place of something like the Aussie hoochie? I must admit to thinking that a couple of ponchos would take up quite a bit of kit space.

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - if there's already a thread I'll be more than happy to be directed towards it.

Hi Womble,

it has been talked about a bit, here's a few threads:

http://www.bushcraftuk.co.uk/community/viewtopic.php?t=83

I won't repeat my thoughts on here though :)
They're on that second thread, end of the first page.

Hope it helps.

Cheers
Carlo
