thanks for that ash, i've joined up already. i hope we can get lots of derbyshire based members (and those who just like to bushcraft in our lovely county) to join up, i think it could become a good resource for us.

Just joined up - I actually live in Leicestershire, so hope that's ok - hope we can go somewhere in Debyshire as an alternative to Spitewinter -

i'm sure that's fine chris, the idea was for a group for people who are practicing bushcraft in derbyshire, whether they live there or just visit, and i'm certain that you fullfill those criteria, in fact i'd swear to it!

Thanks for confirming Stu - I could have added that I am a native of Derbyshire - born in Derby, lived in Melbourne (mind you Melbourne was once described as 'the last surviving colony of brain donors' - although it now has an annual cultural festival - the tone obviously improved once I had left)

Great idea! I'll join when I get in as I can't do it from my phone, but I'm definitely up for a meet.

If there's enough interest, we could try and book the larger campsite at Shining Cliff?

Hi Reaps, I'm sure you'll be more than welcome! If you'd like to join, Vizsla has kindly created a Derbyshire Bushcraft community which can be found by clicking the communities tab at the top of the forum homepage. I'd guess that our particular group won't be far from the top of the list at present; so just click 'join' and you're in.

Oh…And welcome! :)

i'm just guessing here but it could be because you're only on six posts at the moment, i think that quite a few of the functions are locked until you hit ten posts, i guess it's something to do with security.

All sorted today, few posts last night & bish bash bosh hit the join button!

Hi to all the Dark/White Peak Crew! Did any one else think of niknaming the group "The Force" or "Jedi"! or am I just sad?
Any how hi I'm Mike I'm laid up at the mo back probs so looking at lots on line not able to do!

I'm hoping that I'll get to know some like minded folks to learn & share with! I am a former Chef who has moved in to Teaching so will hopefully have some

ayup mate, look at the top left of the page, under the BCUK logo, under "what's new", there's a tab that says "community", click on that and you should get a drop down list with groups at the top, click groups and you should be fine from there.
shout up if that doesn't work

no worries mate, i think you have to have ten posts to your name before you can join the groups, i'm pretty sure your tenth post was the one saying you couldn't join, so i didn't really do a great deal!

welcome to the group mate

Just a quick note to let you guys know that we've two meets planned: One for late October, and one for November.

Details can be found within the Community section! Have a look for 'Derbyshire Bushcrafters'.

Already got my name in for the October meet.
I'm hoping to get to the November one as well, but will know nearer the time.
All we need now is a crisp, bright Autumn to enjoy the woods :-)
