Has anyone ever made an Owl call? I had a couple of go's and managed a very quiet call which was around the right pitch but not very loud. When I try to blow it harder no sound. I made mine from Elder using the instructions here http://www.countrylovers.co.uk/fun/whistle.htm but they arn't very comprehensive. I'd appreciate a few tips or instructions from anyone who has made one successfully. Thanks

I do the old cupped hands jobbie sometimes and have had other owls hoot back to me plenty of times....
Nice little whistle that though :D

Yeah - I do the cupped hands one too, and also attract owl attention. But it took me ages to learn when I was a kid!! You cup your hands together and blow between your thumbs, but I can't find any useful pictures or instructions on the internet for this method...
