View Full Version : Swap
Anybody want to swap a brand new never been used Bison Bushcraft Woodcraft Knife with Walnut scales and a fire steel neck/belt sheath for something else?
What do I want - no idea :-? - so I'm open to offers - A knife or an axe maybe, a leggy blonde? Even a few old books who knows but someone out there must have something of interest. :-D
Sounds like you're swapping mine!!!!
My swap (same thing but with birch handle) for a woodlore micarta wasn't successful
Only mine is used :-D
Ya remember it.
Dont know why it wasnt I think they're as good as any knife on the market - I got two of them and thye're up to everything I could ask of em.
The unused one btw, was for my wife but she prefers a more delicate tool (being a bit of a midget) and it seems a shame to let a new knife sit there on the shelf so I thought I'd swap it for something interesting. :-D
I can vouch for anyone interested that these knives from Roger are some of the most practical I've ever owned. The bite into wood is the best, they are comfortable and well made.
An A+ knive!
I got a couple of blondes over here. I can trade them for your knife :-D
2 for 1 - that's a good deal!
You can have my wife, only 4'9" but a professional body builder and been Miss Great Britian 5 times.
Not a bad cook either!!!
First blonde through the post gets the knife!
Actually Viking you keep teasing me with these blondes I might have to come see one day!
Serious is it anything special you want to trade for?
I dont know - I'm after something interesting - doesnt have to be the same value or anything just something to spark the imagination. could be knife or a book or a viking helmet who knows.
Does that make sense?
Gary.
I rather fancy a Swedish blonde.
Alas no knife to swap.
Any chance of you giving a few hints of what your after. Interesting is none to clear.
If know I'd tell you mate.
If I got Gary right, he wants something special something you just can´t go out and buy. like something handmade and thats got something to do with bushcraft.
Something I thinks Gary would like.
Handmade Sapmi Coffe and sugar bag

Viking Id say yes but i have several already.
Even oiled two and use em when out shooting.
Sorry - but your right on the money.
That´s not mine, i took the pic of an swedish version of ebay. The price went up a little bit too much...
I who wanted a coffe bag...
How much were they I have same sacks I'll sell you two
£19 Then it´s cheaper to buy them new =)
Things like that often come up on the online auction.
I love the sacks, where can I get two from and how much would they cost?
I am also on the lookout for a wooden cup as used by Ray Mears in his Sweedish programme. Any ideas, and again where from and how much please? :biggthump

I know two places that sell thinhs like this on the net and that is
http://www.kero.se/
and
http://www.karesuandokniven.com/
A coffe bag cost from £9 and up, a cup that is called "kåsa" cost about £30-40.
Sometimes you fins them on online auctions to really good prices. But the best way to get your hands on things like this is to go to Lapland. It´s often cheaper and in better quality if you buy them there.
Found an american site who sell a lot of swedish stuff all from Sapmi knives to snuff =)

He's got that as well :banghead:
Viking, if your picture was aimed at me then thats what I am looking for.
Where can I buy one and how much?
:yikes: buy, when you can make :biggthump
Tony, youre quite right, I was just looking at the prices and have decided that a hook knife from axminster would be a better idea for the kaksa, but think that I will be buying the sugar & coffee bags.
Anyone got two of these bags they want to sell????????????????????????
Thanks for youre help Viking.
Chopper Ive pm'd you about them.
Right back to the swap - .................
I'm with ya, I would have got one ages ago but at that price it can wait till I’ve got time to make it! I think I am right in saying that only 1 in 4 survives the making process and this pushes the price up.

Gary,
Mind those Camels, smoking's not good for you!
Oh - if 3 fags are enough its not that big a harem is it! Excessive use of said harem might make you need that zimmer sooner than expected
Dave
Just as well I dont smoke - no fag break means more fun! Whether the harems big or small doesnt matter - its quality not quantity - so im told! :-D

Hello Gary,
 How about a "stoneage" knife ?
The pics are on my pc, so unfortunately I can not upload the images directly to this board. But if you're interested I can send them by email (or if somebody here can help uploading, I can send the pics to them :?: ).
At the moment I have two such knives finished. One with a white blade and one with a black blade.
The white blade (with streaks of grey, purple and pink/red) is made of fossil coral and knapped partly by American Michael Stafford and partly by myself.
The black blade is made of black lace obsidian (volcanic glass) and knapped by one of (if not THE) best flintknapper today: Errett Callahan (American).
Both knives are assembled by me. Handles made of whale bone (Blue Whale shot around 1930). Blades are glued into the handle with a mixture of pinepitch and charcoal (a few nettle fibers added). Then lashed with reindeer rawhide.
I also have a noggin knife finished with handle of curly grained birch, whalebone, and a silver spacer. Blade forged by Steen Nielsen, who is one of the best bladesmiths in Norway today. I have not made a sheath for this knife yet, but will make that my first priority if you'll trade for that one :-D .

Hi
I have an interesting Axe if you're interested!
Its pretty old, and has a hand forged head similar in shape to the Gransfors Broad axe, but made in Britain. Head is about 1.2lb in weight. Has been very nicely rehandled. Great condition! Holds an awsome edge.
Unfortunately no case, but I'm sure a bit of innovative leatherwork will solve that.
I don't have any Blondes unfortunately, but I do have a fiery readhead I wouldn't mind getting rid of.
Im interested in a trade, were abouts are you from ??
What sort of thing are after?
I think the deal has already been done :-( See the bottom of page 2 of this thread here:
