Probably not all that old from the type / shape. Any idea of the calibre / ball diameter?
in new money, as near as i can tell 10.5mm dia.

If you use it be sure to protect yourself from those handles, they get mighty hot, and while you're at it, make sure you don't breath too many of those lead fumes either.

cheers for that Dave but i'll not be using it matey, i'll clean it up and leave it on a shelf, should be a good talking point :)

Weird size that....
Its a single cast ball and minie ball mould with sprue cutter.
I suspect it might be for making solid shot for a .410
If you want to sell, do let me know
i was thinking .45 ?
one of the moulds is for ball, the other is "bullet" shaped
although it may be .44 http://www.castbulletassoc.org/featart.shtml

The bullet shape is a minie ball most likely
too small for a .44 or .45 if its 10.5mm - bear in mind the lead contracts when cooling
ok, nice one, i wonder how i find out what bore it is and how old.
The bullet shape has a very slight shoulder round it at the end that would go into the casing
your thoughts on 410 are sounding good

I suspect it is for a front stuffer rather than a cartridge. Might be for casting solid shot for a .410 shottie (ball and slug). Ball in a .4x is likely to be for a muzzle loading revolver
