found some nice ripe bilberrries over the weekend, lovely. just have to make sure they are above dog urinating level :D

Best source of bilberries/winberries is by Peel Tower, on Holcombe Hill, just near Bury - amazingly good harvests every year, as long as you get there before everyone else!

Oh yes the wonderfull blaeberry as we call them over here in N.I. In fact in the Mourne mountains you can find Blaeberry mounatin/hill. Great fun picking and eating on a days walk.

mmm bilberrys and custard...

love it...

next time you are in snowdonia in august there is a carpet of them at about 500m plus....


they are lovely boil em in water for a minute to kill anythin on them....

Our season down here in God's little acre has well and truely been and gone...and to be honest there's not much of them about :(
