Hello all.
I live in London. I work in the City. I did go camping a few times when I was younger, but didn't like it. So why am I here?
I love the countryside - I like being in it, and often go for long walks at the weekends. My wife and I are hoping to move out of London around the end of the year (can't wait!) Recently it slowly dawned on me that these long walks could be so much more interesting if I knew more about what I'm walking through, and if I could interact with it better.
My wife's delighted, as she's always loved camping, but because I didn't want to do it she's had to put that on hold. So she'll be teaching me some things. Mr Mears (I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about him, but you've got to admit he's inspiring!) became a source of info, and my interest has kept on growing.
Then I found this site - it looks fantastic, so if you don't mind I'll stick around here for a while and absorb as much knowledge as I can. We're also seriously thinking about going to the Wilderness Gathering in September, so maybe we'll see some of you there.
