Hi,
My name is George, I'm 53 Scottish and living on the idyllic island of Jura. A Glaswegian who worked in London, I escaped!! My son (24) can't wait to get to a meet, and my girlfriend is already planning to make a swanndri a la Toddy. She is also trying to find a knife that will fit her little hands.
I'm on the mainland regularly and would like to meet up with yourselves over a beer/ coffee etc. and of course any events. Currently I'm doing what I suspect is the newbie ritual of upgrading all my old camping kit and working through the treasure trove of old threads on here.
You've got a great site, and I look forward to sharing a malt with you all round the campfire. :)

Welcome
I work on Glasgow and live in Lochwinnoch so if you are going to be near those areas let me know and we can meet for a chat. Also keep and eye on the Scottish Meet up thread. The next one should not be too far off.
In the land of many malts (well Islay is just over the water from you :D) welcome to BCUK, any questions just yell up :D
Hi Geordie, welcome aboard mate
Hello,
Welcome to bcuk :) Look forward to meeting you & your g/f......maybe at the next meet up; I'll bring my new toys, shall I?
Cheers,
Toddy
Huge welcome to you George, it’s great to have you. :D
It sounds like you’re getting stuck in and bringing the family with you, good man. Thanks for the kind comments about the site, it’s the great members that make it such a fantastic site. If you’ve any questions there’s always someone that can point you in the right direction.
Have a good one and enjoy the summer

Thanks for the great welcome. SWMBO(sometimes) is very interested in your toys Toddy. I'm looking forward to the next Scottish meet, have we got a date yet? Will it still be hootchie weather?
I'm also tempted to visit Bison at the wilderness gathering in the deep south. Any one else going? I could be persuaded to bring a little local produce.. although some people dont like malt! Don't know why.
May be able to catch up with MagicKelly and some of the gang sooner than that when I'm over.
Looking forward to sharing campfires and learning a lot.
George :)
