Would this be a good set up in your opinions gentlemen,British army bivi bag+Snugpac merlin for spring and autumn,British army bivi bag+Snugpac jungle bag for high summer,i guess i can allways addliners too.To be used in the and British & European great outdoors.Thank you. :)

British and European? Where in Europe?Norway during high summer,i aint mad enough to go bushcrafting/camping during the Norwegian winter unlike some of you hard core bushcrafting mad buggers on here :D

your set up looks ideal for British weather, I currently use a lightweight 1 season bag - can't remember the make but it might be a snugpac - if it gets cold I just add a silk liner.
I usually sleep in a tent (without inner, depending on the midgies) but leave the main door wide open and I find this more than adequate for most nights out in the Spring to Autumn, but I recently bought a MOD bivi bag which I've yet to try.

you might find the snugpack merlin a little chilly on autumn nights, you really have to take snugpaks temperature ratings with a large pinch of salt

Just need to get the British army bivi now then,unless theres a better bivi ?

The Merlin's definitely too chiily for me on anything other than really warm nights.
British Army bivi is as good as any for that price bracket.
If you want a good bag for summer / autumn use try a Nanok Endurance 0 (http://www.nanoktactical.no/)
Highly recommended - check some of the old threads on bag reviews.

Hope that helps.Thanks for the reply Charlie,i was begining to think i had crapped in some ones hat by the enthusiam for my post/question.None the less ive got the Merlin now just need the bivi,i figured that i could add a liner if it proves to be cold but then i do tend to run a little on the warm side anyway.

I think the lack of replies might be something to do with the number of threads we've had on sleeping bags, bivis, snugpac etc... people might not be able to enthusiastically repeat something they might have said a few times recently.

I'm sure if you'd offended anyone you'd have got a lot more replies ;)
I think this is always the way of it with communities like this... there will always be some subjects which come up regularly as the community grows. I think the plan is that the front end of the site ( ie those buttons at the top which aren't working) will help contain some of that kind of information.
og and BTW, I like my Merlin and surplus Bivi bag combo!
