Snow sign

I came across this sign of a certain fellow crossing a lake. This is about the fifth one this week. The tracks are partly drifted in by snow. Care to guess?

I've decided to add one last puzzle. As I was shoveling snow close to a cabin, these revealed themselves. There was a fair bit of old sign about. It was in the area for some time feeding undisturbed as there were no people around for many months

My guess is beaver too, but I couldn't track a snail, so I'm glad to see Jon agrees with me!

3rd set of pics- wolf?

Sliding crits near a lake.... beaver or otter. Fat fella, so I'l go with beaver.

You were right on with your second Jonathan-it's otter. These guys love sliding along, then run a little, then slide some more. They cover some long distances at times, going across lakes in their search for open water. BTW, there aren't much for beaver in this area as compared to more southerly areas that have more of their preferred food. While there's birch, we don't have poplar(aspen) this far north to speak of. Here where I sit at this moment there's lots of beavers, but the above pics are about a six hour drive north.

3rd set of pics- wolf?

Lynx. It ran across the road right in front of me. Unfortunately the pics are taken at the edge of the road so the ground is rough from being plowed so they don't show as clear as I would have liked. Thanks for giving a try though!

Okay, pics 2 & 3 belong to the Woodland Caribou.
Pic 7 are the tracks left by a Cessna 180 0n skis.
Pic 8 are moose droppings.
