Hi everyone, I'm glad to have found the forum! Here's a bit about me:
I've been interested in the outdoors since I was a wee nipper, firstly with Scouts and later as a mountaineer and even later an obsessive cave explorer.
Now I'm a parent and have less time to spend underground for hours at a time, but we still love the outdoors and nature in general. I'd been watching the latest Ray Mears series with great interest, and then this weekend we met Val and John Lord who showed us a few techniques, and now I'm itching to learn and spend some time getting more familiar with the woods and really making more of the wild places of the world. There seems so much to learn and so many friendly helpful people on the forum that it's going to be fun!
If there are any meets in the Derbyshire / South yorkshire region I'd love to join in....
