Anyone know the best place (cheapest!) to get Lowa boots? Or anyone have a pair of size ten going spare?
Cheers,
Will
Polimil used to be about the cheapest around when I was looking, might be worth checking them out ...

Which one's did you get rich?
I didn't actually ever get any, I used my civvie Lowas until they were fit for the bin and then treated myself to a pair of Lundhags. I had my eye on the Combats though. Great boots if they're anything like my civvie ones were, the only thing that let mine down was the moulded sole rather than a generic replaceable one.

I've bought 2 pairs from RV OPS A pair of Mountain Boot GTX's and some Desert Elites
I went down to Plymouth when RV Ops were still located in the Royal Citadel and picked up the Mountain Boots great service and a really friendly bunch of guys.
The Desert Elites I got via Mail order and again they were great to deal with and threw in a free Rite in the Rain notebook with the order...
The distributor for Lowa here in NZ doesn't inspire me with confidence hence sourcing from the UK...
Not sure if they are the cheapest but the service and ordering process is very good indeed.
You dont mention which model of boot you're after??
Cheers

I think what you'll end up getting out of those 2 really depends on what you're doing with them.
My expereince of Goretex lined Lowas ( Mtn Boot GTX) is they are brilliant at keeping your feet dry in all sorts of conditions from: Boggy Dartmoor, wet / sleet ridden Pen Y Fan, Snow covered Mt Ruapehu, frozen Scree on Mt Taranaki and wet NZ bush.
The only couple of caveats are once they get wet inside ( say from river crossings) they take an age to dry out about a good day or so. I mitigated this by getting boots off ASAP after getting wet wringing out socks etc. But I'm not using them in a military context. Also in warm weather my feet get really hot in them and you need to be mindful of socks getting wet from sweat etc.
The Desert Elites I use as a Summer boot and they are great. About as water proof as a paper bag but they dry very quickly and the fabric on the sides helps you shed any water build up and keep your feet cool.

I've got a good condition pair of 10.5's,
Pm me if interested.
