I have found recently there seems to be alot of these coming onto the surplus market. I was wondering are they worth the money? The going rate seems to be around £100.
I ha e herd that they are bulky but are they worth the extra bulk when compaired to bags like nanok and snugpak?
I lile the idea of a self contained bivi system but am anxious about carrying lots of extra weight.
Are there any members who own one and can give me some honest feedback.

There are a few that use them, myself included. For two sleeping bags and a bivvi I think it's a good set-up and cost. Others don't like them though, all down to how big you are and what you like I guess. I don't find the weight an issue at all but they are a bit bulky, the bivvi bag hasn't let me down and I'm starting my third year with it and use it a lot...

I own one of these. Its the one with the woodland camo bivibag.Excellent bit of kit imo, two sleeping bags+bivi bag+compression sack.Well worth the money.
They are huge uncompressed but squash down fairly small..Ive found it roomy enough but then im only 5ft 8in!
I think there is a newer style one in ACU colours.
If you go for one make sure its made by Tennier industries as there some low quality copys about.

It is bulky and heavy there can be no doubt but it does give you flexibility. I had mine away last week in the outer Hebrides, i hasten to add i wasn't carrying the kit as I had my truck, as I was in a tent no need for bivvy bag so left it at home. Choose the right bag for the temp bring only what you need easy. I had no condensation problems with prolonged use(6days) and when I washed it it was dry overnight(no heating on yet). For the price of an ok down bag you get 4 seasons capability with a bivvy bag. I like it, good purchase in my humblest of opinion.

Certainly worth the money.

Personally mine is used for near car camping, haven't tried to fit it in a sac.

Who would be a recommended supplier of a 'genuine' set?

Cheers
