Any of you lot attend the War and Peace show at Beltring in Kent? Have been going for a few years, as its just down the road from me.

If your not familiar its the biggest get together of privately owned military vehicles in the world, ace place to get kit. You can buy anything from old webbing to tanks (anybody lend me a few £k :) Picked up a genuine thermarest for £5 last year, quiet a lot of foreign surplus kit there as well.

I'd love to go, can't see it happening though :(
This is what I get for having a wife that:

doesn't want to leave the cats on their own in the house overnight (and won't have them in a cattery!)
doesn't like being on her own in the house overnight
doesn't want me to go somewhere if she's not going

Acres of surplus - might get there this year again.

Well worth a day out - and some of the re-enactment is pretty spectacular.

Drat! It clashes with the CLA Game Fair. Looks a very good day out.

Well, at least you won't need that torch clipped on at this time of year... :D

Anyway Lurch - you managed the Wilderness Gathering last year?

Yup, and that caused muchos whinging and I didn't go down for Friday night like I wanted.
What happened there is that she agreed in advance and when the date got closer the support for going diminished rapidly!

Of course what I should do is just say:

"Women I am going, cease thy prattle for I am your Lord and Master. Attend me!"
